Therapeutic Supervising Social Worker

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Person specification:

We would want you to have an empathic understanding of the nature of the foster carer task, an ability to communicate effectively with carers, young people, social work colleagues within the agency and local authority.

You must also have proven skills of communication with traumatised children and young people in the care system, have a good knowledge of attachment issues and the impact of trauma upon their development and interpersonal skills. We would also want you to work as an effective team player; understand the systems and legislation operating within the fostering team, have proven organisational skills and the ability to put people from all service sections at their ease.

And….a friendly, happy and positive personality.

Your Responsibilities:

• To Support and supervise foster carers.
• Promote training & development.
• To work closely with the team around the child to ensure the best outcomes.
• To work flexibly around the needs of the service.

Requirements:

• A recognised social worker qualification (Degree; MA; BA; Dip S/W; ).
• Experience of working with children and families.
• Must hold a full UK driving license, have use of a vehicle and be confident in travelling.
• Must be registered with Social Work England
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and an understanding of relevant legislation and minimum standards relation to fostering.
• Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities.
• The energy and enthusiasm to excel within our agency.

Job Types:  Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £35-39,000 per annum + mileage payments and On Call allowance
