Vacancy: Supervising Social Worker

Family Fostering is a fantastic place to work…

We are a small and friendly Independent Fostering Service based in Ramsgate, Kent.  We are a therapeutic fostering provider working to establish ourselves as a trauma informed Agency offering placements to meet identified therapeutic needs.

This is a permanent position ideally for a full-time Supervising Social Worker or 2 part time Supervising Social Workers. Only qualified social workers who are highly motivated and enthusiastic should apply and must share our aim to provide a ‘family feel’ for all the children, young people, foster carers and staff.

We provide high quality, trauma informed therapeutic placements for children and young people and we aim to continue being small enough to care for all our staff team, carers and those placed with us and want to recruit a social worker that wishes to be a part of our dedicated team which is akin to an ‘extended family’. The ideal person will share our ongoing commitment and passion to ensure that we ‘recognise each child and young person’s worth and to therefore unlock their potential’.

To ensure that we can provide the highest level of support and supervision to our families, your role will be fully supported by our Admin Team, our Children’s Champion, Our Therapeutic Practitioner, our Psychotherapist, Independent Form F Assessors, our Annual Reviewing Officer and our Attachment Worker. You will have access to our excellent training and development programme and will be provided membership with The National Association of Therapeutic Parents which provides specialist access to webinars, learning circles, resources and training, with the opportunity to undertake the Diploma in Therapeutic Parenting.

Your Responsibilities:

  • To support and supervise up to 8 foster families.
  • Promote training & development.
  • To work closely with any agencies and all staff to ensure the best outcomes for all of our children.
  • To work flexibly around the needs of the service.
  • A recognised social worker qualification (Degree; MA; BA; Dip S/W; CQSW).
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • Must hold a full UK driving license, have use of a vehicle and be confident in travelling.
  • Must be registered with HCPC
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of, and an understanding of relevant legislation and minimum standards relation to fostering.
  • Ability to use ICT effectively to fulfil job responsibilities.
  • The energy and enthusiasm to excel within our Agency.
